iHear PECS: Animals 2.51

The "I Hear PECS: Animals™" app is designed to support students in advancing their communication skills within Phase VI of PECS®. It offers a variety of features that facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences. The app includes two distinct sound tracks for 12 familiar animals, an PECS® Activity Board™, three Pics for PECS™ Sentence Starter™ images, and twelve Pics for PECS™ animal images. Users can customize the Activity Board™ by selecting from one to three Sentence Starters™ and up to twelve animal images, enabling targeted instruction in both spontaneous commenting and requesting behaviors.

Functionality-wise, the app allows the user to tap the Play icon to randomly play an animal sound, or use the Replay button to hear the same sound again. Students interact by dragging and dropping Pics for PECS™ icons onto the Sentence Strip™ to form comments or requests related to the animal sounds. Tapping each picture then vocalizes the associated sentence, promoting verbalization. When a student requests an animal sound, the corresponding audio plays as a form of positive reinforcement.
